Hyundai and Plus Reveal Autonomous Hydrogen Freight Concept
Hyundai Motor and Plus have unveiled a concept for an autonomous hydrogen freight ecosystem at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2025 in Anaheim, California, announced in a press release. The concept features Hyundai's XCIENT Fuel Cell truck equipped with Plus's AI-based autonomous driving software, SuperDrive™.
The collaboration aims to create a scalable and cost-effective solution for long-haul freight, focusing on zero-tailpipe emissions and improved road safety. The concept outlines a practical framework for deploying these autonomous hydrogen fuel cell trucks along major freight corridors, which includes the development of strategically placed hydrogen refueling stations.
The initiative is designed to stimulate demand for hydrogen infrastructure, supporting a growing fleet of hydrogen-powered vehicles. The concept video presented at the expo illustrates how this infrastructure can be expanded incrementally, enhancing network efficiency and economic viability over time.
