PlusAI Sets KPIs for Autonomous Truck Launch
PlusAI has announced key performance indicators (KPIs) for its SuperDrive autonomous trucks, aiming for a commercial launch in 2027, as stated in a press release. The company is targeting a 100% Safety Case Readiness and over 90% Remote Assistance-Free Trips to ensure the safety and efficiency of its autonomous driving system.
In the first half of 2025, PlusAI reported significant advancements in its autonomous performance metrics, achieving 86% Safety Case Readiness, 98% Autonomous Miles Percentage, and 76% Remote Assistance Free Trips. These metrics reflect the system's ability to operate autonomously without human intervention.
PlusAI plans to initially launch its autonomous trucks in the Texas Triangle, with further expansion into other U.S. and European freight corridors. The company is currently conducting public road testing in Texas and Sweden, with customer fleet trials scheduled for fall 2025.
Plus has deployed its technology across over five million miles globally, leveraging a proprietary dataset to enhance its AI models. This data-driven approach supports the development of a generalizable "driving intelligence" platform, crucial for the commercial deployment of autonomous trucks.
