Hyro Report Shows Deep EHR Integrations Drive Higher ROI for Healthcare AI Agents
Hyro released its 2026 Healthcare AI Agent Benchmark Report, announced in a press release, showing that deeper electronic health record (EHR) integrations lead to stronger financial performance for health systems using AI agents.
The report, based on a survey of 387 healthcare leaders, found that 82% of organizations with advanced, configurable EHR integrations reported annual ROI above $500,000. Only 18% of those using standard connections, such as FHIR-based links, reached the same level. At the $1 million threshold, 15% of advanced integrations surpassed that mark compared to 1% of standard setups. Across all respondents, the average annual ROI from AI agents in call centers was $586,000.
The study also noted that 94% of health systems have adopted agentic AI for patient-facing operations, though only 59% track performance using standardized processes. AI agents reduced administrative workloads by an average of 264 hours per month, addressing staffing shortages and improving capacity across teams.
Hyro’s analysis highlighted that 93% of systems using deep EHR integrations achieved top automation benchmarks, compared with 57% to 79% for systems with standard connections. The company stated that integration depth, rather than the presence of AI alone, determines the level of operational and financial improvement.
