Human.org, a startup focused on AI safety, has raised $7.3 million in pre-seed funding to build a blockchain-based platform for verifying human and AI identities.

Human.org, a San Francisco-based startup, has successfully raised $7.3 million in pre-seed funding to develop a platform aimed at verifying whether an online entity is human or AI. The funding round saw participation from investors such as HF0, Soma Capital, Spearhead, Pioneer Fund, and Hummingbird VC.

Founded in 2023 by Kirill Avery, Human.org is building a decentralized trust infrastructure using a layer 1 blockchain. This infrastructure will provide a verifiable identity system for both humans and AI agents, ensuring transparency and accountability in digital interactions. The company plans to launch its protocol by the second quarter of 2025.

The platform includes several key components: the Human Network, a blockchain for secure interactions; Human ID, a system for verifying human identities; and Agent ID, which assigns accountability to AI agents. Additionally, the Human App will allow users to manage their identities and interactions with AI agents.

Human.org's initiative addresses the growing challenge of distinguishing between human and AI-generated content, a concern that has intensified with the rise of autonomous AI agents. The startup aims to maintain human control over AI systems and prevent misuse in areas such as misinformation and fraud.
