October 01, 2025
Gennie CEO Max Einhorn discusses the use of generative AI in the documentary series Killer Kings, which premiered on Sky HISTORY.

Gennie has made a significant stride in the realm of documentary filmmaking with the premiere of 'Killer Kings' on Sky HISTORY. Announced in a press release, the series is noted for being the first documentary TV series to utilize fully AI-generated imagery. The six-part series, produced by FirstLookTV and distributed by Sphere Abacus, debuted on June 16, 2025.

In a recent episode of Planet Classroom's series 'AI for a Better World,' Max Einhorn, co-founder and CEO of Gennie, elaborated on how the company's proprietary AI workflow, which incorporates tools like Google's Imagen and Luma AI's Dream Machine Ray 2, enables the creation of cinematic reenactments without traditional sets or camera crews. Einhorn emphasized the cost and time efficiency of this method, highlighting AI's role as a creative amplifier rather than a replacement.

The episode also delved into the responsibilities of producers in maintaining transparency about AI-generated content. Einhorn outlined Gennie's 'Pillars of Protection,' which include licensed inputs, clear labeling, and risk mitigation, to ensure viewer trust and uphold nonfiction storytelling standards.
