GDIT Secures $396 Million Contract to Support U.S. Special Operations

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a $396 million contract to enhance IT services for the U.S. Special Operations Command, leveraging AI and cloud capabilities.

General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a $396 million contract to support components of the U.S. Special Operations Command, announced in a press release. The contract, which was awarded in April, includes a one-year base period and four option years.

Under this contract, GDIT will provide comprehensive enterprise IT services to modernize IT networks for Special Operations Forces (SOF). This modernization aims to enhance the rapid transfer, communication, and sharing of operational and intelligence information, especially in contested and remote environments. GDIT will leverage its AI capabilities to improve decision-making, migrate SOF to a multi-cloud environment, and implement advanced zero trust solutions to strengthen cybersecurity.

Brian Sheridan, GDIT's senior vice president for Defense, emphasized the importance of enhancing SOF's digital capabilities to ensure mission success. This contract builds on GDIT's history of delivering mission-critical IT capabilities for combatant commands, including previous contracts with SOCOM and other U.S. military commands.
