eSleuth Appoints Former ATF Director Ken Melson to Advisory Board
eSleuth, Inc. announced in a press release the appointment of Kenneth E. Melson, former Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to its Advisory Board. Melson will advise the company as it expands its AI tools for law enforcement investigations.
Melson served for 37 years at the Department of Justice, including roles as Director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys and Senior Advisor on Forensic Science in the Office of Legal Policy. He co-chaired the White House Subcommittee on Forensic Science and is a past president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
According to eSleuth, Melson’s background in forensic science policy and agency leadership will guide the company’s efforts to strengthen trust among investigators and public agencies using its AI platform. The advisory board also includes Dr. Ann Wolbert Burgess and former Secret Service Director Julia A. Pierson.
eSleuth’s platform uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate investigative processes, evaluate evidence, identify suspects, and connect related cases through a suite of CJIS-compliant tools aimed at improving the speed and accuracy of law enforcement work.
