Deloitte Predicts AI and Stablecoins Will Reshape Finance by 2030
Deloitte announced in a press release the release of its 2026 Financial Services Industry Predictions, forecasting major structural changes across banking, insurance, payments, real estate, and investment markets by 2030. The report highlights advances in AI, digital assets, and shifting consumer behavior as key forces behind the transformation.
In banking, Deloitte projects that stablecoin-powered retail payments could surpass 200 billion dollars annually in the United States by 2030 as digital currencies become integrated with cards and wallets. The firm also expects AI-driven institutional banking products to generate as much as 75 billion dollars in new revenue for top U.S. banks.
In investment and wealth management, Deloitte predicts private capital allocations in U.S. retirement plans could exceed 1 trillion dollars by 2030 due to regulatory changes. The share of registered funds investing at least 5 percent in private capital may also rise significantly, expanding access to alternative assets. AI automation could increase adviser productivity by up to 100 percent, potentially unlocking 350 billion dollars in additional annual revenue.
The report further notes that real estate and insurance will see similar transformation. Blockchain and digital assets are expected to become standard in real estate fund operations, while AI distribution models could expand life insurance access and add 2 billion dollars in annual premiums by 2030. Deloitte concludes that financial services are moving toward intelligent, platform-based models where AI and digital infrastructure are central to growth.
