Datumo Secures $15.5M to Expand AI Evaluation Tools
Datumo, a Seoul-based AI startup, has raised $15.5 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Salesforce Ventures, along with other investors such as ACVC Partners, SBI Investment, and KB Investment. This funding brings Datumo's total raised to approximately $28 million.
Datumo, originally an AI data labeling company, has evolved to provide tools for testing, monitoring, and improving AI models. The company aims to make AI safer and more reliable without requiring technical expertise from its users. The startup's flagship product, Datumo Eval, offers a no-code evaluation platform that automatically generates test data and evaluations to identify unsafe, biased, or incorrect AI responses.
The new funding will be used to accelerate research and development efforts, particularly in creating automated evaluation tools for enterprise AI. Datumo is also planning to scale its operations across South Korea, Japan, and the U.S., having recently established a presence in Silicon Valley.
Datumo's client base includes major Korean companies such as Samsung, LG Electronics, and SK Telecom. The startup's focus on AI trust and safety has positioned it as a competitor to companies like Scale AI, especially in the area of AI model evaluation and monitoring.
