Coherix and Kawasaki Robotics to Demonstrate AI Adhesive Control at Automate 2026
Coherix will join Kawasaki Robotics at Automate 2026 in Chicago to present a live demonstration of automated adhesive control technology, announced in a press release. The companies will exhibit how manufacturers can eliminate adhesive defects while reducing material and labor costs by up to 25 percent.
The demonstration will feature a Kawasaki BU015X Series robot using Coherix 3D laser-based Adaptive Process Control technology in a closed-loop dispensing system. The setup will simulate the application of sealants on a Ford F-150 door skin, continuously measuring and adjusting adhesive placement at speeds up to 400 times per second.
The collaboration combines Coherix Adaptive Process Control software with Kawasaki Robotics hollow-arm, seven-axis robot design. The system replicates a real automotive production environment and aims to reduce waste, rework, and downtime while maintaining full production speeds.
Coherix, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, develops 3D laser-based inspection and control systems that use AI and machine learning to optimize dispensing processes. Kawasaki Robotics, with over five decades of experience, provides industrial automation solutions across manufacturing sectors.
