CleanSpark Expands Into AI Compute, Hires Jeffrey Thomas to Lead New Division
CleanSpark has announced a strategic transition from a pure-play Bitcoin miner to a broader digital infrastructure company that includes AI computing, announced in a press release. As part of this shift, the company appointed Jeffrey Thomas as Senior Vice President of AI Data Centers.
Thomas brings over 40 years of experience in emerging technologies and data center development. Before joining CleanSpark, he served as President of AI Data Centres at Humain, where he led Saudi Arabia’s multi-billion-dollar AI data center program and established partnerships with major global technology firms.
In his new role, Thomas will lead CleanSpark’s efforts to develop and operate advanced AI data center infrastructure. The company stated that this initiative will diversify its revenue streams and leverage its existing expertise in large-scale site development.
CleanSpark executives noted that Georgia has been identified as a key region for potential AI data center conversions and expansions. The company recently secured additional power and real estate in College Park to deliver high-value compute capacity to the Atlanta area and is evaluating larger campus opportunities across its portfolio.
