
CFOs Prioritize AI Amid Economic Challenges, Coupa Study Finds
Coupa Software has released its third annual Strategic CFO Study, highlighting that 40% of CFOs rank AI as their top growth investment area. This finding comes amidst global economic uncertainty, with 90% of CFOs emphasizing the importance of mastering spend management as a key strategy for success announced in a press release.
The study, titled 'Strategic CFO Report: Turning Global Market Uncertainty into Opportunity,' surveyed CFOs globally and found that 46% view external threats such as geopolitics and supply chain disruptions as significant risks to their businesses. Additionally, new tariffs have prompted 28% of U.S. CFOs to increase inventory levels in anticipation of further challenges.
Despite these hurdles, CFOs are increasingly confident in AI's potential, with 74% expressing growing trust in AI technologies. The report also notes that 23% of CFOs see establishing a governance structure to quantify AI's benefits as a major challenge in the coming year. Coupa's AI-driven total spend management platform is positioned as a critical tool for CFOs to enhance agility, visibility, and resilience in their operations.
