
Brahma Acquires Metaphysic to Boost AI Content Creation
Brahma, a global AI and content technology company under the DNEG Group, has announced the acquisition of Metaphysic, a leading developer of generative AI technologies. This acquisition, implemented through a merger, aims to accelerate Brahma's development of AI-powered products for content creators across various industries, announced in a press release.
Metaphysic is renowned for its work in creating photorealistic content at scale, particularly in Hollywood films and live entertainment. The merger positions Brahma to enhance its suite of AI-native products, which span video, image, and audio content creation. The transaction values Brahma at $1.43 billion, with additional investments from United Al Saqer Group and existing Metaphysic investors becoming shareholders in Brahma.
The acquisition will see Brahma's global team expand to over 800 engineers and creative technologists, integrating Metaphysic's groundbreaking AI technology with DNEG Group's award-winning creative technology portfolio. This includes Ziva's technology for digital human and character simulations and CLEAR's AI platform for content management.
Brahma's executive team will be led by Prabhu Narasimhan as Executive Chairman, with Thomas Graham, CEO of Metaphysic, transitioning to CEO of Brahma. The company aims to empower content creators across sectors, offering tools to produce high-quality content at scale.
