Bloomberg Adds AI Surveillance Models to Vault

August 06, 2026
Bloomberg has added Insider Dealing and Personal Trading models to Bloomberg Vault to help compliance teams monitor electronic communications for potential policy and conduct risks.

Bloomberg introduced two AI powered communications surveillance models for Bloomberg Vault, covering Insider Dealing and Personal Trading, announced in a press release. The Insider Dealing model is designed to flag communications that may indicate the acquisition, sharing, or misuse of material nonpublic information.

The Personal Trading model targets messages related to personal trading activity, personal investment accounts, and possible breaches of internal trading policies. The models expand Vault's surveillance policy suite for electronic communications, covering areas such as market conduct, conduct outside markets, and conflicts of interest.

Each model includes documentation describing its structure, risk focus, and intended behavior. Vault applies large language models after model inference to improve alert relevance and reduce false positives. The launch follows Bloomberg BSpeech, a voice transcription service for surveillance across several languages, adding voice and electronic communications to a single Vault workflow.
