AutoFlight Conducts First eVTOL Flight in Central Asia
AutoFlight has completed the first electric vertical takeoff and landing demonstration flight in Central Asia, announced in a press release. The ton class eVTOL flight took place in Alatau City, Kazakhstan, marking a milestone for urban air mobility in the region.
The demonstration was conducted in partnership with Alatau Advance Air Group, which has already purchased AutoFlight's large scale eVTOL aircraft. During the event, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for an additional 50 units from the V2000 and V5000 series to support low altitude transport across Kazakhstan and neighboring areas.
Construction is already underway on Alatau City's first vertiport at the demonstration site. The facility will become the UAM Center Eurasia, Kazakhstan's first urban air mobility hub. AutoFlight will collaborate with AAAG and Kazakh authorities to establish airworthiness certification, operational standards, and pilot training frameworks for regional deployment.
