ASML Reports Record €13 Billion in New Orders as AI Demand Fuels Chip Expansion
Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML reported record quarterly orders as demand for advanced chips used in artificial intelligence systems continues to grow. The company logged €13 billion in new bookings for the fourth quarter of 2025, more than double the previous quarter, bringing its total annual net sales to €32.7 billion.
ASML, the sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography machines used to produce cutting-edge semiconductors, said the surge in orders reflects sustained investment in AI data center infrastructure. CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that customers are increasingly optimistic about medium-term market conditions, citing stronger expectations for AI-related demand.
The company’s largest clients include Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Samsung Electronics, and Intel. ASML also announced plans to reduce its workforce by about 1,700 positions as part of operational adjustments. Despite concerns about the long-term sustainability of AI-related spending, the latest results indicate continuing momentum across the semiconductor supply chain.
