OG&E to Power Three New Google Data Centers in Oklahoma
OG&E has entered into a contract with Google to supply electricity for three new data centers in Muskogee and Stillwater, announced in a press release. The Electric Service Agreements will be reviewed by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in the coming days.
Under the agreement, Google will pay all costs to connect the sites to the grid and cover contracted power expenses regardless of actual energy use. The company will also contribute to power generation and make available capacity from two solar facilities currently under construction.
OG&E stated that the arrangement includes protections for existing customers and will serve as a model for future large load tariffs. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt said the contract supports the state’s goals for economic growth while maintaining low energy costs for residents and businesses.
