Aramco and Pasqal Deploy Saudi Arabia’s First Quantum Computer

Saudi Aramco and Pasqal have installed Saudi Arabia’s first quantum computer, marking the first industrial-focused quantum system in the Middle East. The neutral-atom quantum computer, housed at Aramco’s Dhahran data center, supports 200 qubits and will drive research and training in quantum technologies.

Saudi Aramco and Pasqal have deployed Saudi Arabia’s first quantum computer, the first in the Middle East dedicated to industrial applications, announced in a press release. The system, powered by neutral-atom technology, is installed at Aramco’s data center in Dhahran.

The quantum computer can control 200 qubits arranged in programmable two-dimensional arrays. It is designed to support the development of quantum algorithms and explore real-world industrial use cases across energy, materials, and manufacturing sectors.

The partnership builds on Aramco’s digital infrastructure and follows its investment in Pasqal through Wa’ed Ventures in 2023. Pasqal will also provide training programs and joint research opportunities for Saudi engineers and scientists to strengthen the Kingdom’s quantum computing ecosystem.

This deployment marks a step toward advancing regional expertise in quantum technologies and expanding the use of high-performance computing in industrial operations.
