Anthropic Introduces Voice Mode for Claude Chatbot

Anthropic has launched a new voice mode for its Claude chatbot, currently in beta, allowing users to engage in spoken conversations via mobile apps. This feature, announced on Anthropic's official X account, is rolling out in English over the next few weeks.

The voice mode enables users to speak to Claude and receive voice responses, making it convenient for situations where typing is not feasible. Users can choose from five distinct voice options and switch seamlessly between text and voice during conversations. Additionally, the feature displays key points on-screen as Claude speaks.

While the voice mode is available to all users, certain functionalities, such as Google Workspace integration, are exclusive to paid subscribers. This integration allows access to Google Calendar, Gmail, and Google Docs for enhanced productivity. Voice conversations count towards regular usage caps, with free users typically able to conduct 20-30 conversations.

This move by Anthropic Claude aligns with similar offerings from other AI companies, such as OpenAI and Google, which also provide voice chat experiences for their chatbots.
