Anthropic Expands in Europe with New EMEA Head and 100+ Roles
Anthropic, the AI company known for its Claude chatbot, is set to expand its European operations by creating over 100 new roles, primarily in Dublin and London. This expansion comes alongside the appointment of Guillaume Princen as the head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The company, backed by major investors like Amazon and Google, aims to fill positions across sales, engineering, research, and business operations.
Princen, who previously led Stripe's European expansion and served as CEO of Mooncard, brings extensive experience in scaling technology companies. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to meet the growing demand for advanced AI capabilities in the region. Anthropic's Claude chatbot, which competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, has already been adopted by companies such as WPP, BMW, and Novo Nordisk.
The expansion is part of Anthropic's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe, following a recent $3.5 billion funding round that valued the company at $61.5 billion. This move underscores the company's commitment to enhancing its AI offerings and supporting its growing customer base across Europe.
