Airtel Offers Free Perplexity Pro Subscription to 360 Million Users

Bharti Airtel has announced a strategic partnership with Perplexity AI, offering a complimentary one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro for its 360 million subscribers. This initiative marks the first time an Indian telecom operator has bundled a generative AI service with its connectivity plans.

The Perplexity Pro subscription, typically priced at ₹17,000 annually, will be available at no cost to Airtel's mobile, broadband, and DTH users. Customers can activate the subscription through the Airtel Thanks app, gaining access to advanced features such as AI-driven summaries, real-time Q&A, and task automation.

Perplexity Pro enhances the user experience with unlimited daily searches, access to cutting-edge AI models like GPT-4.1 and Claude, and tools for image generation and document-based answers. This partnership aims to bring high-end AI tools to a broader audience in India, leveraging Airtel's extensive reach to accelerate the adoption of generative AI technologies.
