Advantech MIC-735 Aligns with NVIDIA Halos for Functional Safety in Physical AI
Advantech announced in a press release that its MIC-735 edge AI platform is advancing toward validation through the NVIDIA Halos AI System Inspection Lab. The platform is among the early systems aligned with NVIDIA's safety-oriented framework for physical AI, which focuses on robotics, autonomous machines, and industrial automation.
The validation process aligns the MIC-735 with international functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 13849. This helps customers address compliance requirements and streamline certification processes for robotics and industrial applications.
The MIC-735 is based on the NVIDIA IGX Thor T5000 architecture and integrates onboard and external sensor data to strengthen safety control. It supports the NVIDIA AI Enterprise-IGX software stack, including NVIDIA NIM microservices, the Isaac robotics platform, Metropolis for vision AI, and the Holoscan platform for synchronized sensor communication.
The platform also features certified emergency stop functions over secure IP networks and supports Wireless E-Stop Pro for localized control. Advantech stated that the MIC-735 has achieved official NVIDIA certification as a deployment-ready AI platform, enabling faster deployment and reduced integration complexity for customers working with robotics and industrial AI systems.
