XTEND Reality Inc. has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by the U.S. Department of War to develop and deliver AI-enabled Affordable Close Quarter Modular Effects FPV Drone Kits, announced in a press release.

The contract, issued by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, covers the rapid development, production, and training for the new drone kits. These systems are designed to enhance precision and survivability for small tactical teams operating in confined or urban environments.

XTEND’s new kits feature one-way attack capabilities, modular VTOL configurations, and dual communication systems using both fiber optic and hardened RF links for resilience under electronic warfare conditions. The company will also provide training, spares, and maintenance from its Tampa, Florida headquarters.

According to XTEND’s CEO Aviv Shapira, the system allows a single operator to control swarms of AI-enabled drones with real-time precision. CTO Rubi Liani stated that the company’s XOS platform integrates sensors and payloads into a unified AI-driven mission system to support coordinated swarm operations.
