
vopemed Secures $2.29M for AI Surgical Visualization
vopemed has secured $2.29 million CAD in pre-seed funding to enhance its AI-driven surgical visualization technology, Claris. Announced in a press release, the funding round was led by Genson Capital Inc. and Investissement Québec. Claris is designed to improve the clarity of video feeds during laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries, addressing visibility challenges in minimally invasive procedures.
The funds will be used to accelerate the development and clinical validation of Claris, as well as to expand research and development efforts. vopemed aims to refine its software for broader clinical applications and strengthen partnerships with hospitals and surgical teams. The company is preparing for clinical validation studies to demonstrate Claris' impact in real-world settings.
Genson Capital Inc. contributed $1.5 million CAD, while Investissement Québec added $750,000 CAD to the funding round. These investments will support vopemed's mission to integrate AI-powered image enhancement into operating rooms, potentially improving surgical precision and efficiency.
