UpDoc Receives FDA Clearance for Clinical AI Platform
UpDoc has received FDA clearance for its Software as a Medical Device that uses patient-facing large language models, announced in a press release. The company described it as the first FDA-cleared agentic clinical AI platform designed to support physicians in delivering patient care.
The platform is already being deployed at four major health systems in the United States. It is built to integrate into existing clinical workflows and electronic health record systems, supporting proactive and personalized care delivery that typically requires a licensed clinician.
UpDoc has raised a total of 18 million dollars in seed funding from several investors, including the American Diabetes Association, Cathay Innovation, Eli Lilly and Company, Mayo Clinic, Oxeon, Pear VC, Polaris Partners, and Section 32. The funding will help expand the platform’s deployment and ensure traceable accountability in clinical AI use.
