OpenAI Annualized Revenue Tops $40 Billion
OpenAI is on track to generate more than $40 billion in annualized revenue, roughly double its run rate at the end of 2025, according to Bloomberg.
Revenue growth has come from its AI coding software, subscription sales, and a small advertising business. The company has also seen higher demand for AI agents, including Codex for coding and ChatGPT Work for a wider set of tasks.
OpenAI has cut prices on some models as it competes with Anthropic and Chinese AI companies for customers focused on cost. Anthropic said in May that its run rate revenue had crossed $47 billion, though the companies may use different methods to calculate the figure.
OpenAI has filed confidential paperwork for an IPO. The company also named its second new chief revenue officer in less than a year on Thursday.
