AGent Energy Raises $11M for AI Power Plant Platform

Aug 13, 2026
AGent Energy raised an $11 million Series Seed round to expand its AI based platform for aggregating backup generation at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites.

AGent Energy has closed an $11 million Series Seed round co led by Spero Ventures and MassMutual Ventures, the company announced in a press release. Intrepid Investment Management also joined the round, along with existing investors CIV and Zero Infinity Partners, bringing AGent Energy's total funding to $17 million in its first 12 months.

The Houston company develops AI based distributed power plants by aggregating backup generation already installed at commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Its platform coordinates and monetizes those assets in power markets when grid operators need dispatchable capacity.

AGent Energy said it is already dispatching capacity in PJM, MISO, and ERCOT. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its team and pursue more than 200 GW of behind the meter generation across commercial and industrial facilities, municipalities, universities, schools, and hospitals.

As part of the financing, Stephen Wemple of Spero Ventures will join AGent Energy's board. Aram Ouligian of MassMutual Ventures will join as a board observer.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
