Thoughtworks Introduces AI/works Platform for Enterprise System Modernization
Thoughtworks has launched AI/works, a new agentic development platform built to help enterprises modernize legacy systems and build new technology products announced in a press release. The platform combines AI-enabled reverse engineering, automated code generation, and testing to streamline complex enterprise software delivery.
AI/works interprets legacy applications and converts them into structured specifications enriched with regulatory and security context. These specifications support agentic workflows that generate production-grade code, automated tests, and deployment pipelines. Once deployed, the system continuously updates affected components as requirements change, reducing manual patching.
The platform integrates with major cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake. It also supports mainframe renewal through a collaboration with Mechanical Orchard. Thoughtworks says early clients using AI/works have reduced modernization cycles from years to months while improving code quality and lowering costs.
AI/works is available through a co-innovation program, with broader rollout planned as part of Thoughtworks’ AI that works initiative in early 2026.
