Taiwan's Taiex fell 3.2% as concerns about delays to US AI data center deployments triggered selling in technology stocks.

Taiwan's Taiex fell 3.2% on Thursday as concerns about delays to AI data center deployments in the United States triggered heavy selling in technology stocks, Focus Taiwan reports. The index lost 1,374.19 points to close at 41,574.72, its lowest level since July 31.

TSMC fell 0.88%, while MediaTek dropped 6.86%, Delta Electronics declined 7.38%, and Foxconn lost 2.08%. Several cooling system suppliers, printed circuit board makers, and substrate producers reached Taiwan's 10% daily decline limit.

The 1,374.19-point fall was the 13th largest single-day closing-point loss on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. Turnover reached NT$926.02 billion, or about US$28.21 billion. The selling followed steep overnight losses in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, as US chip stocks fell on fears of tighter AI rules and slower data center buildouts.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
