South Korea has announced the launch of the InnoCORE Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, a global initiative aimed at recruiting 400 outstanding postdoctoral researchers in AI-convergent science and technology (AI+S&T), according to a press release by KAIST. This program is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the country's leading science and technology institutes, including KAIST, GIST, DGIST, and UNIST.

The initiative seeks to advance research in key sectors such as biomedicine, aerospace, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing through international collaboration and AI-powered innovation. Supported by a five-year government investment of approximately USD 222 million, the program offers an annual base salary of USD 66,000 per fellow, with additional funding opportunities through research and industry partnerships.

To attract top-tier global talent, InnoCORE will host international job fairs in Boston, New York, and Silicon Valley, featuring program briefings and on-site interviews. The program also provides access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure in Korea and a multi-mentor system for tailored guidance.

Research focus areas include AI-based drug discovery, smart manufacturing, large language models, and AI-driven technologies in various fields. The initiative aims to address domestic brain drain while nurturing the next generation of global leaders in AI+S&T.
