Sketchy Awards Grants to 12 U.S. Medical Schools for AI Clinical Reasoning Platform
Twelve U.S. medical schools have been selected to receive grants from Sketchy through its Clinical Reasoning Catalyst program, announced in a press release. The funding supports the integration of DDx, an AI-powered clinical readiness platform, into medical education to strengthen diagnostic reasoning skills.
The selected schools include Yale School of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medicine, Washington University School of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine, University of South Dakota, University of Missouri, Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine, Temple University, Nova Southeastern University, Medical College of Georgia - Savannah, George Washington University, and Case Western Reserve University.
Most institutions will embed DDx into pre-clerkship and clinical skills courses, with others extending its use into core clerkships and graduate medical education. Several schools will also apply DDx data for formative assessment and individualized coaching, using performance analytics to guide academic advising and remediation.
Some programs are developing specialized applications of DDx, such as rural health case studies at the University of South Dakota, osteopathic-specific content at Nova Southeastern University, and communication-focused simulations at George Washington University. These initiatives aim to create consistent, scalable frameworks for clinical reasoning across all levels of medical training.
