SecureIQLab has released version 5.0 of its Cloud WAAP CyberRisk Validation Methodology, announced in a press release. The updated methodology is the first independent framework to validate AI-powered defenses using AI-powered attacks.

Version 5.0 expands evaluation to seven test categories and three new attack surfaces, including AI-assisted bots, API gateways, and large language model (LLM)–integrated application stacks. It introduces AI-on-AI validation, LLM and generative AI security testing, and full API lifecycle validation.

The methodology aligns with AMTSO standards and references the MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP Top 10, and OWASP API Security Top 10 frameworks. Testing is scheduled to begin in March 2026, with results expected in late July ahead of the Black Hat USA conference.
