Roblox Adds Agentic AI Tools to Streamline Game Creation

April 16, 2026
Roblox has upgraded its AI Assistant with new 'agentic' capabilities, including a Planning Mode and AI-driven mesh and model generation tools, to help developers plan, build, and test games more efficiently.

Roblox has expanded its AI Assistant with new agentic tools that help developers plan, build, and test games on its platform, according to TechCrunch. The update introduces a Planning Mode that enables the Assistant to analyze game code and data models, ask clarifying questions, and produce editable action plans before implementing changes.

Planning Mode allows developers to refine and finalize their design approach collaboratively with the Assistant. Once a plan is complete, it can automatically execute game-building tasks using additional AI tools, including new Mesh Generation and Procedural Model Generation systems. Mesh Generation lets creators add fully textured 3D objects directly into the game world, while Procedural Models allow for editable, code-based 3D structures that can be adjusted dynamically.

The Assistant can also use playtesting tools to read logs, capture screenshots, simulate player input, and identify bugs, providing feedback that it can use to fix issues automatically. Roblox stated that these capabilities create a self-correcting system that improves over time through iterative testing.

The company is also developing support for multiple AI agents to collaborate in parallel, enabling complex tasks like coding, testing, and character creation to run in the cloud. Future updates aim to integrate third-party tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex directly within Roblox Studio.
