Roadzen's DrivebuddyAI Secures Patent for AI-Driven Driver Risk Assessment
Roadzen Inc. has announced that its DrivebuddyAI platform has been granted a patent in India for its Cognitive Assessment of Risk for Drivers (CARD) scoring system, as stated in a press release. This system offers a comprehensive and context-aware approach to driver risk assessment, analyzing factors such as drowsiness, collision warnings, and environmental conditions.
The CARD system uses a clustering algorithm to correlate multiple risk factors, providing real-time insights and fostering safer driving behaviors through personalized coaching and a rewards-and-penalties framework. This innovation supports fleet operators and insurers with risk-based premium calculations and proactive safety interventions.
DrivebuddyAI has also achieved validation from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the AIS 184 standard, making it the only fully compliant driver safety system available for automotive OEMs in India. This validation is expected to become mandatory for all six million commercial vehicles in India by 2026.
