Photocure and Artera Partner on AI Test Evaluation for Bladder Cancer
Photocure and Artera have launched a joint research initiative to evaluate an AI based digital pathology test for bladder cancer, announced in a press release. The collaboration will use Photocure’s blue light cystoscopy registry and Artera’s developing ArteraAI Bladder Test.
The project will give Artera access to data from Photocure’s United States registry to validate the ArteraAI Bladder Test. The companies will analyze real world evidence to help urologists identify bladder cancer and manage treatment more effectively.
The research aims to develop, evaluate, and optimize Artera’s multimodal AI histopathology biomarkers for patients with non muscle invasive bladder cancer. The goal is to confirm the prognostic and predictive capabilities of the ArteraAI Bladder Test and improve guidance for treatment decisions.
According to Photocure’s Chief Medical Officer Anders Neijber, the collaboration will combine blue light cystoscopy specimens with Artera’s biomarkers to better determine disease grade and stage. Artera’s CEO Andre Esteva said the partnership seeks to extend the company’s precision pathology work from prostate to bladder cancer.
