Pearson has announced an expanded role for its Chief Technology Officer, Dave Treat, who will now lead the company's digital and technology operations, effective April 7. This change comes as part of Pearson's strategy to scale its AI and tech capabilities, announced in a press release.

Dave Treat, who joined Pearson nine months ago, has been instrumental in establishing the company's AI Center of Enablement and overseeing its Research & Development and Ventures teams. With nearly 30 years of experience in technology innovation, Treat will continue to report to CEO Omar Abbosh while retaining his title as Chief Technology Officer.

The transition follows the departure of Marykay Wells, the former Chief Information Officer, who will leave Pearson on April 4. Treat's expanded responsibilities aim to leverage Pearson's technology foundation to enhance its AI offerings and foster innovation across business units.
