Oracle Corporation and NVIDIA announced in a press release plans to expand Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Superclusters with Vera Rubin NVL72 systems to multiple gigawatts. Vera Rubin NVL72 systems and Vera CPUs are now generally available on OCI.

Each NVL72 rack connects 72 GPUs through NVIDIA NVLink, while OCI networking can scale across hundreds of thousands of GPUs. Oracle also plans to offer HGX Rubin NVL8 systems with eight Rubin GPUs, two Intel Xeon 6 CPUs with 64 cores each, 4 TB of DDR5 memory and 6.4 Tbps of RDMA networking.

OCI customers can scale Vera CPU and Rubin GPU resources independently for agent workloads that execute tools, test code and retrieve data between model calls. OpenAI says it is bringing Vera CPUs into production on OCI for agent sandbox workloads. The company has also trained and served GPT-6 Astra on an OCI Supercluster containing more than 100,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
