OpenAI Discusses New Funding at $750 Billion Valuation

December 18, 2025
OpenAI is in preliminary talks to raise tens of billions of dollars at a valuation of around $750 billion, potentially involving Amazon and other major investors.

OpenAI has held early discussions with investors about raising new funding at a valuation of around $750 billion, reports The Information. The company could raise tens of billions of dollars, possibly up to $100 billion, though the talks are still preliminary and details remain subject to change.

A valuation at that level would be about 50% higher than the $500 billion figure from OpenAI’s October share sale. The company has already raised over $60 billion from investors including Thrive Capital, SoftBank, and others. Amazon is reportedly in talks to invest $10 billion or more.

The decade-old AI developer, OpenAI, recently surpassed $19 billion in annualized revenue and is on track to reach $20 billion by the end of the year. Despite its strong revenue growth, the company expects to burn about $26 billion this year and next as it invests heavily in data centers and talent to develop and operate its AI systems.

If successful, the new funding round would further solidify OpenAI’s position as one of the world’s most valuable private technology companies, following its recent restructuring as a public benefit corporation and ongoing discussions about a potential future public listing.
