OpenAI Enhances ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode

OpenAI has updated its Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT to reduce interruptions and improve user interaction, making the AI assistant more personable.

OpenAI has released updates to its Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT, aiming to make the AI voice assistant more user-friendly and less interruptive. The update, announced by OpenAI post-training researcher Manuka Stratta, focuses on allowing users to pause during conversations without being interrupted, a common issue with AI voice assistants.

The new version of Advanced Voice Mode is available to all ChatGPT users, with additional enhancements for paying subscribers, including a more engaging and concise personality for the AI assistant. An OpenAI spokesperson noted that the updated voice assistant is designed to be more direct and creative in its responses.

These improvements come as competition in the AI voice assistant market intensifies, with startups like Sesame and major players like Amazon advancing their own AI voice technologies.
