Ollie Will Shut Down Its Privacy Focused AI Assistant on November 6

Family AI assistant startup Ollie, which raised a $7.5 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures, will close its app on November 6.

Ollie, a startup building a privacy focused AI assistant for families, will shut down its app on November 6, TechCrunch reports. Cofounder and CEO Bill Lennon announced the closure on X on Friday.

"We got close, but ultimately couldn't keep up," Lennon said. "With Muse, Instinct, and others entering the space, it became harder to stand out, grow, and raise the capital we needed to succeed."

Ollie sold the assistant on a subscription. The app connected to a user's email and calendar and helped with appointment bookings, meal planning and bill payments; the company had planned to move into household budgeting. It disclosed a $7.5 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures in September, and TechCrunch notes it was one of the first mainstream apps to achieve SOC 2, an independently audited compliance standard.

Customers will receive instructions on exporting their data and getting refunds in the coming days, Lennon said.
