NVIDIA to Invest $100 Billion in OpenAI for AI Infrastructure
NVIDIA has announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI, committing up to $100 billion to develop AI data centers. This investment will support the deployment of at least 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA systems, which will power OpenAI's next-generation AI infrastructure. The first gigawatt is expected to be operational by the second half of 2026 on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform, announced in a press release.
The collaboration aims to enhance OpenAI's capabilities by reducing its reliance on existing cloud computing partners like Microsoft. OpenAI will work with NVIDIA as a preferred strategic compute and networking partner, co-optimizing their roadmaps for AI model and infrastructure software alongside NVIDIA's hardware and software.
This partnership complements OpenAI's existing collaborations with companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, and SoftBank, focusing on building advanced AI infrastructure. The investment marks a significant step in deploying superintelligence and scaling AI technology benefits globally.
