Quantinuum to Bring Helios Quantum Computer to Oracle Cloud

Quantinuum and Oracle Corporation announced in a press release a multiyear partnership to deploy Quantinuum's Helios quantum computer in an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI data center in the United States. The companies said OCI customers will be able to access Helios through an OCI quantum service alongside OCI high performance computing and GPU infrastructure.

Helios is Quantinuum's third generation quantum computer. The system uses 98 physical qubits in a trapped ion design, has been used in demonstrations involving 48 logical qubits, and has an average two qubit gate fidelity of 99.921 percent.

Oracle plans to preview the OCI quantum service in the coming months. The service is expected to combine Quantinuum's development stack with support for open source hybrid programming frameworks, giving developers a way to move from simulation to execution on quantum hardware.
