Nextchip Integrates Ceva's AI NPU for Enhanced ADAS Solutions

Nextchip has licensed Ceva's NeuPro-M Edge AI Neural Processing Unit to enhance its next-generation ADAS solutions, announced in a press release.

Nextchip has licensed the NeuPro-M Edge AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU) from Ceva, Inc. to enhance its next-generation advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) solutions, announced in a press release. The integration aims to leverage the advanced AI and vision capabilities of the NeuPro-M to improve performance, efficiency, and accuracy in automotive safety systems.

The NeuPro-M NPU is designed to accelerate deep learning and machine learning workloads, supporting complex neural networks such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers (ViTs). This technology will enable Nextchip's ADAS systems to perform tasks like object recognition and segmentation with higher precision, even in challenging environments.

Ewoo Chon, CTO of Nextchip, highlighted the importance of integrating Ceva's NPU to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of their ADAS systems, ultimately contributing to safer and more reliable vehicles on the road. Ran Snir, General Manager and Vice President of the Vision Business Unit at Ceva, emphasized that the NeuPro-M will help automakers and Tier-1 suppliers add robust ADAS capabilities, enhancing system reliability and safety for consumers.
