Nationwide announced a $1.5 billion investment in technology innovation through 2028, with $100 million earmarked annually for artificial intelligence over the next three years, according to a company Q&A.

The company said the investment will modernize its systems and enhance operational efficiency for its financial partners. Nationwide’s existing AI tools, such as Sales Sidekick and Copilot Chat, help teams respond more quickly and accurately to partner needs. Its Partnership Portal integrates systems into partner ecosystems to simplify workflows and increase adoption of digital tools.

Nationwide emphasized data protection as a central part of its technology strategy. Its AI tools, including Chat With Your Data, are designed for handling sensitive and regulated information, supported by dedicated Blue and Red Teams focused on security and compliance.

With more than 2,000 custom AI agents already in use, Nationwide reported productivity gains between 15% and 30%. The company said these tools allow associates to focus on higher-value tasks and improve service for both partners and members.
