MUNIK Achieves First ISO/PAS 8800 Certification for AI Safety in Automotive
MUNIK has been awarded the world's first ISO/PAS 8800 certification by DEKRA, Germany's largest independent testing and certification organization, announced in a press release. This certification recognizes MUNIK's pioneering efforts in integrating AI safety within automotive development processes.
The ISO/PAS 8800 standard, introduced in December 2024, mandates comprehensive safety processes for companies embedding AI technologies into vehicle systems. MUNIK's development process aligns with the standard's requirements, addressing AI system items, hardware AI components, and software components implementing AI models. The process integrates AI safety considerations across the entire product lifecycle, ensuring a cohesive approach to AI-related safety risks.
MUNIK collaborated with German AI automotive experts and leading Chinese universities to construct a robust automotive safety development process. This effort culminated in a successful independent safety audit by DEKRA, resulting in the final certification. The certification was presented to MUNIK's Director of Automotive Safety, Mr. Fan Wentao, by Mr. Li Mingxun, General Manager of Functional Safety at DEKRA China, during a ceremony in Shanghai.
