Mumtalakat Partners with SandboxAQ to Build Bahrain’s Biotech Ecosystem
Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Co. and SandboxAQ have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of a biotech ecosystem in Bahrain, announced in a press release.
Under the agreement, Bahrain will license SandboxAQ’s software and quantitative AI expertise to identify and develop drug targets and new therapeutics. The collaboration is expected to generate more than $1 billion in biotech assets for the Kingdom.
A joint research committee will oversee a three-year program focused on creating innovative drugs and positioning Bahrain as a regional biotech hub. The partnership supports Mumtalakat’s ongoing portfolio diversification strategy and its goal of fostering growth in the health sector.
