Matterworks Secures Series A Funding to Enhance Predictive Biology
Matterworks Inc. has announced the completion of its Series A funding round, led by Lewis & Clark Partners and OMX Ventures, according to a press release. The funding will be used to expand Matterworks' model as a service (MaaS) business and enhance its machine learning and scientific operations.
The investment round also saw participation from Pillar VC, Germin8 Ventures, Intermountain Ventures, and Tarsadia. Matterworks aims to leverage this funding to accelerate its machine intelligence innovations, which are designed to reduce the cost and increase the throughput of mass spectrometry quantitation.
Matterworks' Large Spectral Models (LSMs) utilize self-supervised machine intelligence for the direct interpretation of molecular-omic data. Their PyxisTM platform, launched in 2024, is the first generative AI for untargeted molecular annotation, offering new data modalities for understanding complex biological outcomes.
