Markmi Secures €1.1M to Expand AI Markdown Assistant in Fashion Retail
Markmi has raised €1.1 million in seed funding to accelerate the deployment of its AI-powered markdown assistant across Belgium, the Netherlands, the Nordics, and the U.S. later this year, announced in a press release. The startup aims to help fashion retailers make data-driven pricing decisions, improving sell-through rates and profitability.
The AI assistant replaces traditional methods like spreadsheets, offering clear price recommendations by analyzing multiple scenarios quickly. Retailers such as C&A, G-Star, Zizzi, ZEB, and Torfs have already reported revenue growth of 5–10% and margin improvements of 2–5% during markdown periods.
The funding round includes contributions from fashion and tech investors, including Wolf, the Torfs family, and tech veterans like Lorenz Bogaert and Matthias Geeroms. Markmi plans to evolve into a comprehensive AI-powered pricing platform, expanding into full-price optimization and promotional management.
