Ligero Secures $4M Seed Funding to Launch Ligetron
Ligero has raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Galaxy Ventures and 1kx, announced in a press release. The funding will support the launch of Ligetron, Ligero's flagship zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) designed for scalable data security and privacy.
Ligetron offers significant performance improvements, boasting 66 times faster speed and 1,024 times better memory efficiency compared to existing market solutions. It can handle 1,000 transactions per second on a single NVIDIA L40S GPU while using less than 2 GB of CPU RAM, with potential applications in mobile-based ZK rollups.
The seed round, structured as a simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) with token warrants, was raised at a $20 million valuation cap. Ligero plans to expand its team to support future growth, adding roles in engineering and business development.
