iQIYI opens AI film studio in Shanghai, starts filming Cop in Trouble

Nov 2, 2026
iQIYI has opened an AI Film Studio in Shanghai that pairs live action filming with AI post production, and started filming its first title on October 28.

iQIYI has opened what it calls China's first AI Film Studio at the iQIYI Creative Center Shanghai, the company said. Filming of the studio's first project, the internet feature film Cop in Trouble, began on October 28.

The studio of about 110 square meters combines live action filming with AI post production. It has multi camera shooting, synchronized high resolution video and audio recording, digital continuity logging and real time footage review. Footage syncs automatically from the set to NadouPro, iQIYI's AI film and TV production platform, which gives filmmakers access to nearly 30 AI models, including Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0, and hundreds of production focused AI agents and skills.

"The AI studio lets directors preserve that performance while adjusting sets, lighting and costumes, makeup, and props more flexibly," said Liang Zhu, iQIYI vice president and head of intelligent production.

iQIYI says the facility builds on its Hengdian virtual studio, which it says delivered production efficiency gains of over 30%.
